FECHA: 13 de abril de 2026
HORA: 4:00 pm México, 5:00 pm Colombia, 7:00 pm Brasil.
Resumen
Geometric flows are a fundamental tool in geometric analysis, with deep applications across both pure and applied mathematics. They have played a central role in major breakthroughs, including the resolution of the Poincaré conjecture and the proof of the Penrose inequality in general relativity.
Among these flows, the Mean Curvature Flow is one of the most important and widely studied examples. In this talk, we will describe this geometric evolution equation, with particular emphasis on the so-called self-similar solutions. We will present several important examples and discuss some of their key applications.
